Rising Star Alert!
From the small Aboriginal community of Woorabinda, QLD, Miiesha is a passionate storyteller. As a proud Anangu/Torres Strait Islander woman, she uses her music to bring people together, to help educate, and to inspire.
Nightlife is tipping her as a rising star, but she has already achieved so much! At the beginning of May, she received awards in three categories at the Queensland Music Awards. Her song ‘Twisting Words’ took out the Indigenous Award, Soul/funk/RnB Award, and the Remote Award (songwriters living in remote boundaries of QLD).
Miiesha’s latest release proves that she has even more talent to showcase. It is a song with substance, as she reflects on her personal experience. Her powerful lyrics paired with the mellow rhythm, creates such a dynamic song that deserves to be heard.
“Damaged is my most personal song yet, and the most painful for me. It is a song about the broken relationship I have with my mother, and how much I have wanted it to heal, and how much I have tried to fix it, only to find myself hurting more.”
Nightlife systems have the power to shine a spotlight on emerging artists by displaying their song front and centre on our consumer facing crowdDJ® Kiosks and app. Each highlighted track appears on the ‘Featured Songs’ screen, making crowdDJ a discovery platform for music, and a great partner for artists.
Being an Australian, chilled RnB track, ‘Damaged’ is perfect for a retail, bar, or dining environment. Sound like it would fit in at your venue? Use the Manage My Nightlife app to take a listen.
Nightlife proudly supports local artists through our #AustralianPlayed initiative. Each track is marked with an ‘Australian Played’ icon, encouraging consumers to pick and play local artists.
As one of the greatest up-and-coming RnB artists of today, we’re excited to share Miiesha’s talent with you.
