Anzac Day goes beyond the anniversary of the landing on Gallipoli in 1915. It’s the day on which we remember all Australians who served and gave their lives.
The right approach needs to be taken to ensure appropriate music and visuals are playing on this important day. We have a range of content suitable for your Anzac Day programming and can help you set this up around any services you already have planned.
We have available several versions of Laurence Binyon’s The Ode.
The full version of The Ode is a self-contained commemoration service, beginning with The Last Post and concluding with one minute of silence. We also have a version without the minute of silence and a number of other options.
Appropriate music to follow The Ode
No-one wants Beyonce to start playing the second your Anzac Day program is over. To maintain a focus of remembrance after your official ceremony or program, we’ve composed a special ANZAC_DAY list. It contains a small, hand-picked selection of appropriate tracks from artists such as Eric Bogle, John Williamson and Redgum, perfect to follow on from The Ode.
It also includes ‘Spirit of the Anzacs’, a charity single featuring Lee Kernaghan, Guy Sebastian, Jon Stevens, Sheppard, Shannon Noll, Jessica Mauboy and Washington. This single was released in 2015 to raise funds for Legacy and Soldier On, and is based on Paul Keating’s 1993 eulogy at the interment of the Unknown Soldier in Canberra. The music video combines historical war footage and photos with pieces filmed in studio when recording took place.
Managing your screens
It’s important to ensure you have a screen management plan in place. You might like to program one slide to stay up for the duration of the day or intersperse an Anzac Day slide with special messages about your program.
On the Manage My Nightlife web app, find the Advertising tab on the left and then click on Library to browse our slide library. Click Upload if you have ready-made advertising, or click on Custom to write a customised message on one of our backgrounds from the library. Once you’ve chosen your slide, configure the settings as needed and click Create.
Whether there are a few games of two-up planned or you’re advertising food and drink specials, we’ve got something to suit your Anzac Day program.
