Soundtracking the Australian pavilion for World Expo 2020 Dubai

Nightlife Music has been announced as the music content technology partner for the Australian pavilion at World Expo 2020 in Dubai.

Partnerships Manager Phil Brown said working closely with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and its other Expo affiliates, Nightlife will be the link between the creatives being spotlighted and the 2.5 million visitors expected at the pavilion.

The Brisbane architecture firm building the Australian pavilion is Bureau Proberts.

“Our technology will showcase hundreds of talented Australian musicians, both
emerging and established, as well as over 3,000 hours of compelling on-screen content and culture across tourism, the arts, sport and lifestyle,” Mr Brown said.

“For six months the Australian Government will be presenting our country’s remarkable products, food, wine, services, heritage and creative talent, much of this content will be delivered and managed from our platform unless it’s live,” he said.

“It shows an enormous amount of confidence in our curation expertise as well as our technology.”

Nightlife’s award-winning, interactive innovation crowdDJ® will also play a significant role in the guest experience at the pavilion, helping to curate a unique and memorable Aussie soundtrack.

Via a mobile app or a touch screen kiosk, visitors will be able to choose the all-Australian music they want to hear or discover in several pavilion spaces.

Australia’s Commissioner General to Expo 2020 Dubai, Justin McGowan welcomed the partnership.

“The Australian Pavilion is all about highlighting our home-grown ingenuity and providing immersive experiences for visitors, so crowdDJ® which is a unique Aussie invention, exemplifies both,” Mr McGowan said.

“Music is critical to creating an unforgettable visitor experience. It’s a valuable trigger for people thinking of holidaying, investing or doing business in Australia, and if people are able to have an input into the music, those memories will be even stronger,” he said.

It’s the second major international appointment in a month for the Brisbane based music technology business after announcing a two-month deal with the famed Wembley Park precinct to engage crowdDJ® for a summer series of events, including superstar concerts from headliners such as Pink, Spice Girls and Bon Jovi.

“We launched crowdDJ® just over three years ago, so to be part of the Australian pavilion and promote ourselves on the world stage and to a global audience is an opportunity we are grateful and delighted to be part of,” Mr Brown said.

The Australian pavilion will be one of 190 national exhibits at the first World Expo to be staged in the Middle East.
