Nightlife, AOPEN & MeldCX partnership delivers interactive music
The digital music era has driven music consumption across the globe exponentially, fundamentally changing the way people purchase and consume music. As a music technology company, we are heavily invested in finding ways to adapt our hardware and software to meet these needs. Our partnership with global electronics giant AOPEN is one of these solutions, and is leading us toward expansion into more global markets.
We have ambitious plans to head into both the New Zealand and US markets, delivering crowd sourced music solutions for brands and existing clients such as Virgin Active, Anytime Fitness, Snap, Bounce and Carnival.
Our CEO, David O’Rourke, says the partnership enables Nightlife to accelerate the roll-out of our product, crowdDJ® to existing and new verticals, as well as provide a roadmap to take the technology to a global market.
“Over the past 12 months we’ve rolled crowdDJ® out to 800 sites across Australia, with over five million user engagements. It’s allowing us to scale much more rapidly, and expand internationally,” Mr O’Rourke said.
Our app, crowdDJ® taps into user’s Spotify accounts to let them select a song to be played at public venues. crowdDJ® will soon integrate with AOPEN’s MeldCX product which was co-created with Google. In addition to the mobile app, the crowdDJ® service can be accessed through AOPEN’s Google Chrome-powered touchscreen kiosks; the Commercial Chromebase 22” and Commercial Chromebase 10”. From a software point of view, MeldCX provides the magic that allows all the apps and devices to work together, without having to be rewritten for Chrome.
AOPEN Group Global Chief Digital Officer, Stephen Borg, says the collaboration has been a huge commercial and technological success.
“This partnership has propelled Nightlife to be an industry leader in the music sphere. Thanks to technology available through MeldCX, Nightlife allows users to unleash the potential of Chrome through additional power, functionality and compatibility,” Mr Borg said.
“Working with Nightlife on their move to AOPEN and Google Chrome has been a rich experience for the whole team given our shared commitment to best of breed technology and delivering immersive customer experiences.”
We will be unveiling several more products based on AOPEN and MeldCX in the coming months.
