THE BEATMIX SECRET IS OUT!

DJ ProYes, it’s true, the worst kept secret in Nightlife’s History is out! We have produced the world’s first hard drive, pitch control system for DJs.
We are sorry that some of you have felt left behind, but we must say that we were determined to ensure that the product was all that we knew it could be before we released it to the market.
Over the last few months we have done a series of trials in key nightclub venues throughout the country, and the results are in.

Xchange  Hotel - Melbourne, Vic
South Yarra’s Xchange Hotel has always had a large emphasis on music video entertainment and now Nightlife’s DJ Pro is part of the fun.
“I must congratulate your technicians for an outstanding piece of technology! My DJs use the new DJ Pro and are impressed with the overall system now that it includes “accurate” pitch control and video mixing abilities.”

Swish Bar - Adelaide, SA
Adelaide’s latest in a long list of venues to have installed Nightlife is the Swish Bar in the Stamford Plaza.
“Newly renovated, Swish Bar has set a standard of style and sophistication in Adelaide. With the new DJ Pro and its Pitch Control, DJ Nick Ford and MC Paul Curran fire up the crowd mixing the lastest House and R’n’B. Mix the venue with some of the best DJs, MC’s and Cocktail Lists and get one of the best nights out!”

Ruby Room at Burswood Casino - Perth, WA
One of Perth’s largest nightclubs is the Ruby Room at the Burswood Entertainment Complex.
“I find that the pitch control and extended remixes of the new DJ Pro system has given me a lot more options and a smoother mix. As a DJ, this tool is vital in pleasing the crowd.” - DJ Craig

ChalkThe Chalk – Brisbane, Qld
The Chalk is one of Brisbane’s hottest spots and one of Nightlife’s key clients.
“Music is an extremely important component of Chalk Bar and the Nightlife HDMS™ has become an integral part of that. Now with the DJ Pro advancements in technology as well as a greatly enhanced music selection, its now a very serious DJ tool used by our residents and guest DJs alike. The DJs can now mix Nightlife just like CDs or vinyl plus have control over our video displays at their finger tips. It no longer just plays in the backgroud, but it does that too - it never sleeps.”

ShelbourneShelbourne Hotel - Sydney, NSW
Sydney’s Shelbourne Hotel has been with Nightlife for almost a year now and are enjoying the DJ Pro.
“The DJ Pro system has given our customers and DJ’s that little bit extra with it being so easy to use and the fact we can show film clips for every sound track we play. The customers and DJ’s love it!!!”

News from NZ

With the growth of Nightlife NZ, we have added the services of Chris Philpott to the Customer Service team in Whangarei. Chris will be fully trained and conversant with the intricacies of the HDMS™ system, providing tech support , training and system management services to you the customer. He has past experience in customer support work and also a love of music, being part of a local rock band.
In October this year, the NZ Bar Show is being held at the ASB Showgrounds, Greenlane, Auckland. It is worthy of a mention here as the show is bringing to the country a star attraction, Jon Taffer. This has been made possible by DB Breweries, who have sponsored the visit. Jon Taffer is an industry expert, well we should say guru. He speaks to sell-out audiences throughout the USA and take it from us - it will be the best thing you do this year if you get along to hear what he has to say ! No bull.

Introducing DJ Nebz

Dj NebzSupplying an entertainment system to the Wonder Factory at the Royal Children’s Hospital Brisbane, is one of Nightlife’s endeavours to put smiles on sick children’s faces. Volunteer worker, Mark Krebs or DJ Nebz as everyone knows him, plays an important role in providing entertainment for the children.

Mark began DJing with the Nightlife system when he started at the Wonder Factory a year ago, “the kids asked me to play their favourite songs so I had to learn fast!”

His favourite song is ‘Watch Over Me’ by Bernard Fanning who is also his favourite artist. “He’s a great guy and he’s from Brisbane too, so I wouldn’t have to go far to meet him.”
Apart from being a student, Mark’s hobbies include soccer and surfing and his dream car is an Audi Q7. In the meantime he drives a Kia Rio which he fondly refers to as ‘the grey ghost.’

Mark enjoys Djing for the Wonder Factory and using the Nightlife system to make a huge difference to the kids, playing a part in their daily activities.

Royal ChildrensThe Wonder Factory is funded by the Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation - working wonders for sick kids. For more information please visit: www.workingwonders.com.au

Tools for better managing your music
Over the next 3 months we will be featuring a 3 part series on music management. Three great features of the Nightlife programme will be explained in greater depth, giving you specialized control of your music and showing you how to create the desired atmosphere in your venue.

PART 1 - Skip Vs Delete
A common mistake is assuming that skipping a song (F10) and deleting a song (Del) are having the same effect.

Skipping a song (F10) will not only skip that song from the current playlist, it will also skip that song from any other lists available. Which means your Nightlife system will never load that song automatically. However the song will still appear on your HDMS™ programme and can be manually selected and played, for example by a DJ.

You can view the songs you have skipped by selecting ‘search’ from the toolbar and then selecting skipped songs.

When a song has been skipped from a list a blue * will mark that song from the far right hand column. Any of these songs can be reinserted from the skipped song list into a playlist by removing the blue *. This is done by highlighting the song and pressing F10

An example of when to skip a song is when a song is not appropriate in your venue during the day however you are happy for your DJ to play that song at night.

Deleting a song will only delete a song from its current playlist. If your scheduler reloads a list with that song, it will appear and play from that playlist.

If you would like to go one step further and hide a song so that it will   no longer appear on your HDMS™ and can never be played, you can wait until next week when we will be featuring the benefits of creating HIDDEN lists or you can call our Client Services Department on 1800 773 468 who will be happy to help.
