Introducing Nightlife's Customer Support Team
We thought it about time we introduced you to our Customer
Support Team, those wonderful people here at Nightlife who help
you from the very first moment you place your HDMS™ order, from
the initial project right through to subsequent training, ongoing
music management needs, tech support and much more.
Jodie Baker - Customer Support Supervisor
As Supervisor, Jodie develops processes and procedures and
coordinates all the teams within the department to ensure that
everything runs smoothly. Here are the teams within the team.....
OUR PROJECTS TEAM
Rebecca Dawson -
Projects Manager
For 3 years Rebecca (Bex) has
been confirming new orders
and initial music requirements,
coordinating the delivery and
installation process for all your Nightlife equipment and ensuring
our new clients are 100% happy with their system.
Luke Lawrence - Customer Support & Training The multi-talented Luke has been with us for 2 years and floats
between Customer Services (see below) and Projects, often
taking on some of the bigger corporate projects.
OUR CUSTOMER SERVICE TEAM
David Edwards & Ali Rashada - Customer Service Consultants
In the 9 months Dave has been with Nightlife he's increasingly
become involved in managing the
music needs of our clients,
providing advice and training on
getting the most from their
Nightlife system. While, for nearly
6 months, Ali has been smoothly
and patiently guiding our clients
through training, software and
hardware upgrades, new owner takeovers and more.
Sarah Breuer - Training & Documentation Sarah oversees the ongoing training of the CSC team and is the
chief documenter and problem solver. She certainly knows her
stuff, having been with Nightlife for 6 years now.
OUR TECHNICAL SUPPORT TEAM
Brett Eldridge - Technical Support Coordinator
As Tech Support Coordinator for the past 12 months, Brett has
managed to considerably reduce
the response time in solving any
technical problems our clients
might encounter.
Mark Beresford & Debra Kelly
Technical Support Consultants
Mark & Deb have both been with
us for around 12 months and have
extensive knowledge of the inner workings of the HDMS™, and
alongside Brett, form the friendly team who expertly solve all your
tech support enquiries.
To wrap up the whole process, it goes something like this: Projects
get you started, Tech Support keeps you going and Client
Services give you the most out of your system. What a team!

It's Aussie Music Month and the ARIAs will be upon us in no time.
I think we're super lucky to have such an active and brilliant
music scene and I thought I'd use my little space here to
recognise this and spotlight some great fresh artists, who you
may not see at the awards this year, but are undoubtedly on the
right track.

Brisbane's very own The Boat People are currently sitting very
comfortably at the forefront of Aussie indie pop/rock, and with the
release of their stunning and optimistically
titled debut album yesyesyesyesyes, it really
is no surprise. The fantastic Tell Someone
Who Cares has been a favourite around here
and now comes Clean, the follow-up slice of
pop-perfection from the pen of bassist James
O'Brien. Produced by Magoo and already
loved by the J's, Clean will undoubtably launch the boys further
and build anticipation for, not only the album, but the forthcoming
single, Unsettle My Heart, for which they promise there will be a
video. Watch this space! HDMS™ users have received this little
gem with this month's RD115. |

If the name Kate Miller-Heidke isn't
familiar to you yet then you really must
hear this stunning talent, who is already
being touted as "one of the most beautiful,
versatile voices imaginable" and "one of
the most exciting female performers to
recently emerge". At just 23, Kate's
amazing versatile and virtuosic vocals combined with the ability
to pen a darn great tune, effortlessly bridges the gap between
pop and opera without indulging in American Idol-styled vocal
tangents. Her beautiful debut single Space They Cannot Touch
opens her excellent Telegram EP, is currently on high-rote on
Triple J and has recently achieved 20,000 plus legal downloads.
Her live performances are something else, check her out on her
upcoming tour.

Aussie hip hop is finally starting to stand up and produce some
cracking material, with acts like Hilltop Hoods, TZU and
Butterfingers jumping to mind. Enter
Weapon X & Ken Hell, two emcees out of
Melbourne who possess outstanding beat
making skills and razor sharp rhymes that
are usually delivered with tongue firmly
planted in cheek. They demonstrated their
production and lyrical diversity firstly on
Otherman, and have now followed it with the tight title track off
their album Sneakerpimpin' Ain't Easy. In the video you'll see
cameos from X Factor winners Random, A-Style and Nightlife's
very own DJ Bure (blink and you'll miss him). See all the
controversial action on CR115.

More on Nightlife talent, our very own CSC
guru Luke Lawrence (check out his gorgeous
mug on the left) moonlights as the bass player
for awesome, up and coming hard rock trio
Japunga. Signed to Brisbane hard rock label
Modern Music (also responsible for The
Butterfly Effect and The Red Paintings),
Luke along with singer/songwriter/guitarist
Jeff Carter and drummer Rudi Weber are gearing up for the big
time with their latest album Souls Conflicting. They've kindly
allowed us to release their first single Suddenly as an exclusive
audio only track for RD subscribers. Put it on and crank it up!

|
| |
Also check out some big releases from other Aussie stars like
Bernard Fanning, Magic Dirt, The Veronicas, Cat
Empire, Hot Lies, Kisschasy, Faker, Ben Lee and
a small fresh-faced vocalist you may have heard of...
Missy Higgins.

DJ Marty - Isobar.
Marty's a dentist, so we can't tell you his real name! What
we can tell you is that, when he's not fixing teeth, DJ Marty is
fixing tunes at the Isobar nightclub in Hobart's classy
waterfront precinct. The bar and nightclub is situated in a
beautifully renovated heritage-listed building and is one of
Hobart's more sophisticated venues.
|
Now 25, Marty first got into club gigs in Adelaide while
studying at uni for 5 years, but on graduating he moved to
Hobart where he has way too much fun to ever consider
giving up DJing. He's only been using Nightlife for 6
months, but loves the HDMS™ as it gives him more time to
interact with the crowd.
Fave current song is Pon De Replay from Rihanna and fave
song of all time is Be Faithful, Fatman Scoop while Michael
Jackson is Marty's favourite artist.

At Your Service
Daylight Saving Your System
Daylight saving is upon us once again in most states of
Australia and right throughout New Zealand, so when
you're updating all the clocks around your venue, it is
important to remember to also change the clock on your
Nightlife system. Failure to change the clock will result in
your Billboards and Scheduler being out of synch.
To adjust the date and time on your HDMS™ simply follow
these steps:
Arrow across to Utilities and press [Enter]
Arrow down to Set Date and Time and press [Enter]
Arrow down so that the time option you
want to change is highlighted.
Press [Enter] to go
forward and [Shift] and
[Enter] to go backwards.
You will notice the time
or date will immediately change in the far
left and right corners of your screen.
To save your change, simply escape out of the menu
options.
Call your friendly Customer Support Team on 1800 773 468
if you need help with this or any other feature of your HDMS™.
News from NZ
For those of you who may have not remembered, you need to
change the time on your HDMS™ now that Daylight Saving is upon
us once again. This will ensure that your Scheduler is playing the
right music at the right time. Check out the 'At Your Service' article
above for instructions on how to do this.
Congratulations to our finalists at the recent HANZ Show in
Rotorua, who were nominated for Best Entertainment Venue,

Changes to Irish Updates
To help you get the most out of your music, our Irish list has been
split up into more specific lists, making it easier for you to pinpoint
and play the type of Irish music you want to hear...
IRISH - Irish Traditional, Celtic & Folk Music
IRISH_LITE - Irish Easy Listening
IRISH_POP - Irish Pop/Rock Artists
If you subscribe to Irish music updates you will receive
them every 3 months from now on. This means you will
receive better quality music that is more relevant to your venue.
If the Irish list is already programmed into your scheduler, it will
automatically change to the new IRISH - Irish Traditional, Celtic & Folk Music content. If you want to program the other two lists,
simply add them to your scheduler. Please call Customer Support
on 1800 773 468 if you have any questions or need any help.
