From a field of over a thousand submissions, The Australian Financial Review named Nightlife Music as one of the Top 50 Most Innovative Companies in Australia & New Zealand – the only music company to receive this honour in the awards’ history.
The company was ranked number 26 overall in a hotly contested field that included companies such as M&C Saatchi, Deloitte and XERO. Nightlife also achieved top ten status based on number of employees and industry sector.
Judged and compiled by consultancy Inventium, Most Innovative Companies applicants were assessed on the merits of two recent innovations as well as the strength of innovation culture within the organisation, a process that included anonymous surveys of over 50 staff.
In addition to their in-venue request app – crowdDJ® – Nightlife were also recognised for their work in providing a way for businesses to play their Spotify music from a commercially licensed media player, delivering compliancy as well as “unrivalled sound quality”.
Nightlife Music CEO, David O’Rourke says the listing in the AFR Top 50 is a great endorsement for the company’s longstanding history of innovation and underscores their vision for how tech can be used to raise the value of music in business environments.
“It’s wonderful for our team’s efforts to be recognised in this way,” Mr. O’Rourke said. “Music is something the whole world loves and we’re excited to provide a way for people to enjoy it in a business environment without artists and labels missing out on their share.”
The AFR gong comes only weeks after the organisation announced their plan for global expansion, in part as a result of their recent partnership with electronics giant AOPEN.
“We are proud of what we’ve been able to develop for our Australian clients and are excited to be exporting our services to other territories where we see as much of a need as there is locally,” Mr. O’Rourke said.
